This tea, translated to English as Golden Monkey, has a mature, refined, almost malty taste, owing to high oxidation rate and its terroir in the mountains of Fu’an, Fujian. Legend has it that monkeys only picked the finest tea leaves, golden in color owing to its aforementioned oxidation at high altitudes thus giving it its name. It is sweet, malty, slightly fruity with a clean finish that is lush on the palate and grows towards its finish.
A refreshing tea, perfect with buttered snacks. 3 grams per 250ml of water at 95 degrees Celsius for 3 minutes will let you best enjoy this tea.
